I would vote for Jim Webb under certain circumstances.

I would like for him to fully reconcile with the Democratic Party, but I wonder if that's possible, given how far to the left the Democrats have shifted.

OK...that's not really relevant to what Fuzzy Bear was saying. That doesn't negate the fact that Democrats have moved significantly to the left.

Don't get excited!  A president Cruz is nothing to be afraid of.  It would mean balanced budgets, lower taxes, lower cost health care, law and order.  Your freedoms will not be infringed upon, they will be enhanced!

like all the last times we were told that we would get a balanced budget under a Republican President. You guys are unbelievably naïve.

And that happened under the last Republican president?

If Webb plays the spoiler in the fall campaign, it won't be the Democrats who suffer. Apart from the ~12 people who supported him in the primaries, who is going to desert Clinton to vote for him, especially if someone like Trump or Cruz is the GOP nominee? A more likely possibility is that Webb would pick a moderate Republican to be his running mate in an attempt to win votes from anti-Tea Party Republicans. Either way, I'd be surprised if he cracks 3% of the popular vote.

I feel like some of the Berniebots might desert Clinton for Webb. They have a lot of respect for him.

I've been thinking Trump would pursue his as a running mate. They'd have a chance to win, so Webb trying to run on his own is a bit of a relief.

Trump would never choose a Democrat as a running mate, not even a moderate Democrat like Webb.

Webb will get 2% of the vote nationally. Webb can appeal to Southern voters, disaffected Latino voters, any American who is interested in his view of America. That is if he campaigns in the first place.

As many problems I had with Jim Webb before, I'm genuinely surprised that being a flagrant narcissist is now one of them.

Considering Webb couldn't crack 1% among Democrats in the primary, why exactly would he take significant numbers of Democrats in the GE? He has far more upside among Republicans, though of course he'd win close to none of those either.

It's less "moved left" and more "became more homogeneous"

Could Webb possibly take enough Dems to throw Virginia to the Republicans? He's pretty irrelevant elsewhere.

This is possibly the biggest threat to the Democratic candidate .... that if Webb did run, the Rep candidate could more easily win Virginia.
Though I really doubt Webb would run at all.

Countdown to someone posting a "Clinton (D) vs. Trump (R) vs. Huntsman (I) vs. Webb (I), discuss with maps" thread...
