What if President Warren Harding had lived on and run for reelection in 1924 in a two-way race? The Dem nominees are one conservative and one progressive guy.

What happens? Harding was in trouble at the time of his death in 1923 due to corruption charges against several cabinet members. Would he have been reelected in 1924? In 1920, he was elected in a massive landslide.

Although Harding is a little damaged, due to the heavy Republican advantage in these days he prevails and wins a comfortable reelection. Meanwhile, Calvin Coolidge is replaced as Vice President.

Former UK Ambassador John W. Davis/Nebraska Governor Charles Bryan: 154 EV. (41.97%)

Even if the teapot dome scandal happens Harding would still probably be re-elected. He had successes and his promise to return to normalcy mostly happened.  If the Dems end up deadlocked as in RL it would be a certainty. I see LaFollete doing better.

He'd do worse, but probably still get re-elected comfortably...only McAdoo or Underwood would have a chance, and even then there'd be a lot of banking on corruption to make it work. But this topic does not suppose any other changes, ergo:

Harding chunks out just a smidge of the South (mostly because of Eastern Tennessee), but loses Democratic-leaning Arizona and New Mexico based on corruption, and LaFollette manages to take in a few Western states.
