Inspired by Bill Kristol's hysterical fear of a Trump nominaton.

After a long primary battle with Ted Cruz, Donald Trump secures the GOP nomination while Hillary Clinton coasts to victory in the Democratic primary. Disgruntled neoconservatives, led by pundit William Kristol, bolt the Republican party and draft former vice president Dick Cheney as their standard bearer. He selects junior senator Tom Cotton as his VP candidate.

Discuss with maps.

If Cheney has the money and the following going it could seriously split the Republicans setting up a nice Hillary sweep. Trump would have to keep fighting Cheney for the Republican base will Hillary keeps the dems and goes hard for the center which she wins mostly easily.

I see no reason to think Cheney would do this, and no reason that his campaign would get anywhere off the ground if he did.
