How many of each have become president? I'll go with governor over I believe two senators to go directly from the senate to the white house.

Governor, but I definitely wouldn't be complaining if I was a Senator.

Senator seems like it'd be much easier and like it has much better job security. Definitely Senator.

Senator. Provincial issues tend to bore me, although I must say I am getting very interested in local municipality issues. So either mayor (or city council) or Senator please, but screw the state.

Senator who deals with intelligence/national security issues. Could easily bang out a thirty-year career there and almost never have to see your constituents.

Senator. As long as I didn't lead some committee it wouldn't be very stressful or high responsibility. I'd hate to be responsible for a whole state's livelihood.

Being a senator is sooo cushy compared to being a governor.

Senator, eventhough its a commuters job. Governor has to balance budgets and blamed for shutdown. Rarely do shutdowns happen in Congress

This. And I've watched a lot of interviews where former governors turned senators (or vice versa) say governor is better.

Governor, so I could have the fancy mansion, not live in D.C. or some Virginian/Maryland suburbs and face Beltway commutes, and so there wouldn't be nearly so much squabbling.

And the veto pen I could exercise.

And vetoing > lawmaking.

In my state Senator is the ideal job, even a 2/3rds Dem majority cant send GOV Rauner or Quinm a good budget.

Governor, mostly because it's harder to nationalize.

The Senate is probably boring, but Governor seems to deal with more boring/petty local issues where you have to turn up in Jeans to show how normal you are

I'd pick Governor, easily. Senator seems as if it can be a pretty cushy job... but in reality I'd want to do something. In the Senate, I have to fight with 99 other people to gain seniority, and to try and get anything accomplished. If I'm a Governor, I have the loudest voice in the State.. I feel like that's where I can actually make a difference.

Governor, although I might want to move to the Senate after that.  I've got plenty of ideas about where Michigan should go in the future, and I'd like to implement my plans for the state before I went national.

Governor, so I could have the fancy mansion, not live in D.C. or some Virginian/Maryland suburbs
Don't most members of Congress fly back to their homes and districts on the weekends?
