Because apparently the life of a tick is just as valuable as the life of a people, this brilliant socialist blogger has called for terrorism against food vendors and farmers and what not. Anybody think this is justifiable? Semi-justifiable? Realistic grievance even if his tactics are wrong? Personally I think he's a nut and that many animals are delicious, and humans are not morally equal to animals.

"Worldwide socialism would mean saving THIRTY BILLION animals each year."

Because worldwide socialism would somehow inherently lead the entire world to become vegetarians or vegans? This kind of socialism seems like a very interesting kind of religion to me.

I know right. Figured it would be perfect for this website. It may even lead to some interesting discussion.

"Comrade, it seems like nationalisation of the commanding heights of industries and establishment of a proletarian dictatorship is less and less popular everyday! How can we be appealing again, like we were in the 30's?"

"What if we forced everybody in the world to be vegans?"

"That's it! You're a genius!"

Classic Romans 1 example of worshiping the creation rather than the Creator.  It's amazing what people believe or ideologies they cling to instead of the true God of the Bible.

Although it is weird that the same proposal could come from a Shiv Sena demagogue. Dreaded horseshoe theory comes again.

Don't think so, but who knows.

Want a serious reaction? I consider the way in which animals are often considered and treated like mass products disgusting. I think that should definitely change. I think eating meat is, at least for many well-off people in the first world, unnecessary, and I consider it morally problematic that I nonetheless still do so. In that respect, animal rights activists are right that "things should change". However, I also think that humans are worth more than animals, that comparing the Shoa to slaughtering animals is both nonsensical and insulting, and that terrorizing people who engage in producing, selling or consuming meat is morally reprehensible (and probably hilariously ineffective). And since I'm pretty sure almost all people will agree with this view, at least regarding the latter part, I highly doubt that this will lead to a fruitful discussion.
