You misunderstood.  I remember this story well, here is the chain of events.
1. Gambian man was attacked by a bunch of racists for racist reasons
b. the local press goes nuts because they finally have a "locals hurt innocent immigrant" story
III. it comes out that the "locals" weren't all that local
Four. the local press ignores the story because it no longer fits the narrative they wanted to push

There is an important distinction between the story Ingemann mentions and this one though, in that one is about the media deciding not to cover a story that much and specifically the media not reporting the ethnic background of perpetrators. There are arguments to be made for why that is wrong/right, etc.

This is the actual police declaring that a festival was safe and nothing happened while knowing that multiple young girls were sexually violated, in order to promote a political agenda (the chief of police is known for hating the Sweden Democrats, he has tweeted that seeing their party leader makes him wanna puke).

Yes, some people within the Dutch police tried getting away with these antics too, publicly saying/tweeting stuff like that about the PVV. Most of them were fired.

Of course these were not the policemen who are actually on the streets, because it's needless to say that many of them vote for the PVV...

I decided to read up on Nyheteridag and at least one of its founders (Chang Flick)is a former elected official in Kristianstad (eastern Scania) for the Sweden Democrats, while the other founder had a too common name (Jakob Bergman) to really research him.

But let's ignore where dead0man found his source, he had little way to know what kind of media he quoted, and instead focus on whether the story are true.

The story have at very least hit datolinjen on Radio24syv (a licence funded radio channel primarily owned by Berlingske Media) in Denmark, whose host are Anne Sofie Allarp (former chairman for SPP Youth, member of the Social Democrats from 2003-2015 where she left the party in protest against its hardline on immigrants and refugees).

So yes I will claim that the story is true, or at least as true as a story making into the mainstream usually is.

This is making headlines in Germany right now. Afghan "minor" raped and then killed a 19 year old medical student in the city of Freiburg.
