There's no way that a man who marched with MLK would get southern votes.

George Romney was a champion in the civil rights movement, and supported King's goals, but George Romney and Martin Luther King Jr never did march together during any march or event.

In 1965, Romney led a march of 10,000 people in Detroit to protest events in Selma, Ala. King wasn't there. When King died in 1968, George Romney attended the funeral.
