Maybe he can win New York if Hillary is caught saying New York is the worst place ever and New York City sucks. Maybe.

On NY: Hell no.

PA on the other hand could definitely be very close.

If Trump is the nominee, New York might vote to the right of New Hampshire. Smiley

DAVE, please censor "New Hampshire" and "NH" for TN Volunteer's account only. Thanks.

Trump is very strong in Pennsylvania and yes, he can expand the map, while the other Republican candidates can't.

Did Romney harbor any delusions that he could win Massachusetts, I forget? I know he thought he could win Michigan.

Did Romney harbor any delusions that he could win Massachusetts, I forget? I know he thought he could win Michigan.

Maybe in like March or April before the election. It wasn't anything he ever actively campaigned in, and it wasn't one of the states he threw money at in the final week or two to "get a landslide" or whatever. It's possible, however, that parts of Massachusetts saw his ads due to media market crossover with NH.

On a serious note, Trump probably would have a small favorite son effect in New York, which would cancel out whatever favorite son effect Hillary has there, as Trump is more of an "authentic newyorkian". There should also be some natural "reversion to the mean" from 2012 due to Obama's overperformance due to Hurricane Sandy, and
Hillary's not winning Staten Island like Obama did in 2012, so add that in there too. Maybe something around the 2004 result - 58-40 Democratic. With Webb in the race, I'll guess 56-38 Democratic for now.

I don't think so, given that he was only halfway through his gubernatorial term (2004-2005) when he started disowning the state and insulting it to audiences in South Carolina, Iowa, etc.

FYI: My map was a sarcastic reaction to the idea the Trump could win in a landslide.
Trump vs any of the three Democrats would, at best, be close, but more likely to be like 2012, and maybe a little closer. Trump is not going to win New York. If he does feel free to laugh at me to your heart's desire.

A Clinton/Sanders/O'Malley landslide (vs Trump) is more likely than a Trump landslide.

If Trump is flipping FL and NV despite their high hispanic populations, plus NY, MN, and CT, then he's getting also getting WI, IL, and OR. Maybe WA as well.

Not necessarily. Trump is far more popular relative to your average Republican in the Northeast than in the Midwest or West.

You can give Donald Trump more states. Or, as Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character said in the Emmy winning "Election Night' episode of HBO's Veep: "A bowl of hair could win that state." So, yes, Donald Trump's hair could carry, say, Idaho and Utah and Wyoming.…

Actually it would just be like Trump to lose the Mormon states (or at least take a severe beating in them) while remaining competitive in the Midwest. It's a new era, and the freiwall is braken.

If Trump wins New York and Pennsylvania, I will eat my hat.  That will be the first GOP president to win both states since 1984.

I think Trump could win WV before he wins OK. WV could be one of Trump best states, if not the best.

All of this talk about a Trumpslide and he consistently trails by 2 points, which is a very close election, to Clinton. I dont think he will win Pennsylvania or NH, if thats the case

If Hillary does really poor, he might bring PA into his column. Maybe a 15-20% chance in total. But no way Trump (or any other GOPer) wins NY. I see Hillary not below 58-59% in that state. Likely is actually 62-65%.
