Well, is he done forever? NY Governor's race? I've heard from some on the forum he'd go for it but I doubt it. Maybe congress? Nah. 2020? My God....

There is probably still an opening to advertise reverse mortgages.

George Pataki: like Fred Thomspon, but even more presidentially disappointing.

Transportation, HUD, or a moderate Republican President's replacement for Kennedy if there's a Democratic House in Congress.

He lives in a small town, so school board member might not be out of the question.

Maybe serve as a surrogate for Rep. Chris Gibson's 2018 gubernatorial bid, and, if Gibson is successful, maybe Pataki will be appointed to MTA board or something.

Drawing a huge salary for serving on corporate boards.

He has no political future.

Sadly, you're right. Maybe a run for N.Y. Senate in 2018 against Gillibrand if a Hillary Clinton administration is widely unpopular by 2018.

He's 73 by then, not a great age to be taking on a tough political challenge.

He's probably done with politics. Could perhaps be appointed to an administration if a Republican wins the presidency this year, but doubtful. And I'm not sure what congressional district he lives in, but if it's safe republican / lean R, then maybe he would run for a house seat. But most likely he is done.

This. Why he bothered to even run for President this year is a mystery.

Different state and different circumstances, but Edwin Edwards (EDWIN EDWARDS) ran for the house at 87.
