Traveling, languages, physics, and astronomy, although my love of traveling and languages is closely related to my love of politics.

EDIT: Also mountainy things like hiking and skiing.

Other than political cartography, I'd say aerobic exercise.

Geography. I think about it all day, every day. Mapping is what I do when I'm bored, happy, sad; I do it daily. Maps and geography are my life. *tears well up*

I also have a weird obsession with counties, hence my name on here. Looking at maps of them, memorizing them, making my own maps of them... I love counties. I get excited even just talking to random people about them. Really. I do.

Also I love to work out and ranch dressing.

My favorite two sports teams (Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini basketball), followed by the rest of them.

Being around my friends in a social setting ... I literally live to avoid FOMO.

Beer and wine.

The last two go perfectly together for my lifestyle, LOL.

Figuring out how things work, hiking, gardening (though past years have left no time or space for this, i still have my cute little Aloe plant!) and helping others. It sounds cheesy but I haven't gone a year without volunteer work or such since my teen years.

I'm a camp counselor for disadvantaged kids during the summers. That's easily my favorite time of the year. That fits into the broader passion of "helping people," which is the biggest draw to politics for me.

I don't really "do" passion, more of a jack of all trades kind of guy, but in my free time I enjoy getting eff'd up and playing video games.

I enjoy cars too, but that's been kind of buried while my child rearing years have been going by, but soon I plan on getting back into it.  I'm in the market for a sh**tty, old, small, rwd, manual car right now...ideally an RX7/8, a Miata or an MR2, but I may end up settling for a Fiero or that little rwd Nissan made in the 80s/90s whose name escapes me right now (not the Z, I'd never drive a Z).  No pony cars either thankyouverymuch.

I suspect this is the start of my mid life crisis.

yes, that's it....the drifter guys love 'em.  I'm not a drifter (or one of those guys with the fart pipes and lots of sticker), but we like the same kinds of cars.
