Really hope this speech is more than talking points.

Maybe President Obama will become the first former US President to be given his own late-night political satire/comedy show. I'd watch.

Yeeeeeeees

It is silly to think that any speech could inspire Washington to start working, but I'm liking this speech. Obama is calling out the BS tonight and its not often that that happens anymore.

I like the speech too.  It's making me wish we didn't have the 22nd Amendment, not because I think Obama has been a great president, because I think he's only been okay, but he's been a better one than any of the yahoos of either major party look to be.

It's getting better.  I think he's making good points on foreign policy.  Stop the cynicism and be more confident...

Very telling to watch which members stand up at the mention of ending gerrymandering and getting rid of special interests controlling our elections.

I liked the last portion of it.

To be honest, I think our country is doing just fine and we hear so much doom and gloom form both sides of the isle I think we needed a bit of a pick me up politically and the President delivered that to a certain extent. Its always difficult to judge how effective his words can be, but I appreciate the optimistic tone and I think we sorely need a voice like that in politics.

"Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love"

Also, I think the only time Paul Ryan applauded was when Obsma refuted Trump.

She may still have great prospects in getting the VP nomination, but I don't think Nikki Haley is having a superstar performance tonight. Obama seemed like a real guy, she is speaking like a robot.

Nikki Haley didn't screw up like Jindal/Rubio/etc., took responsibility, and she also refuted Trump.

Actually, we've been calling those programs "Moonshots" at MD Anderson for years.  Thanks though.

Jeh Johnson is the designated survivor this year.

Orrin Hatch, the PPT of the Senate, was not at the speech, and he is above Secretary Johnson in the line of succession.

Phenomenal speech by Obama that was optimistic and not just slinging mud. As a Republican, I am content. Nikki Haley did okay as well, although a bit too much teleprompter voice.

A positive and hopeful message. The only times I shook my head and thought there was sham was Guantanimo Bay, downplaying current foreign threats, and a couple other minor details.

Yeah, Haley has had the best State of the Union address response in a long time, which will probably mean that conservatives will hate it.

This is making the rounds.

7 years....that's all you got?

1.maybe...for now.  Some make the argument that it was better than the alternative, maybe it was....it's still sh**t.
2.Yet we're still in Afghanistan, still in Iraq, added to Syria, visited Cameroon and Uganda.  After what he said before he was elected you'd think he'd be too embarrassed to bring up "combat troops".
3.the only completely good thing he's done on the foreign policy front.
4.If you can read, and you think that human caused climate change is a serious problem you can't possibly think this agreement is a good thing.

Hell, even if you LIKE Obama and Iran, you should be pissed at two of these.

Haley and Obama both did very well. First minority woman to deliver a response to a minority President, right?
