http://www.newsweek.com/paul-sanders-join-forces-fed-414926

Weirdly this was along the party line with the exception of Bernie Sanders and Tammy Baldwin in favor, while Bob Corker voted against it. But at this point this nonsense is generally procedure. The main story is Bernie Sanders voting for it and Ted Cruz missing the vote. Cruz has been going after Paul supporters by saying he is a major "sponsor" of the bill, this is a pretty bad vote for him to miss.

Yes, I agree with you.
We need to lock Cruz away, and throw away the key.

At least until the other political prisoners stab him for shutting down the lunch line to get the meatloaf menu option repealed.

moderate > "the middle"
Sanders and Cruz > at opposite ends
The lesser of two evils > Sanders (barely)

Can someone explain what the argument is for or against this? I know virtually nothing about this subject.

Can someone explain what the argument is for or against this? I know virtually nothing about this subject.

The argument for this is Fed paranoia and blantant attempts to disband sane monetary policy in favor of TEH GOLD STANDARD, which hasn't REALLY been in use by the U.S. since late 1800s (from 1890s til the Gold Standard was actually disbanded, it was basically a pseudo-standard).

The arguement against this is that the Fed gets audited regularly, and thus Rand Paul's bill is utter nonsense.

This is another strike against Hillary. If I was a Democrat, I'd vote for Bernie in a heartbeat. Ted Cruz is a disappointment for not even showing up.

Why would Bernie Sanders vote to hand over monetary policy to a Republican congress?

Trump has made many outrageous remarks including saying people were cheering when the buildings came down on 9/11...but making sure the fed is fairly audited is loon talk sure.

As he showed when he asked Ben Bernanke why the Fed wasn't making loans to small businesses (Huh) Bernie does not actually understand how the Fed works or what it does. So it doesn't surprise me that he signs on with the END THE FED conspiracist nuts.
