Twenty two day poll.

Answer depending on whether war is justified under certain circumstance,
self defense, retaliation for attack, spreading democracy, "peace through strength",
spreading freedom etc
Also: spending more or less on defense
or any other relevant questions.

I am closest to a Five, because I think war is rarely if ever justified, although I can understand
why people would have exceptions to a pacifist philosophy. There are better ways to settle differences and there should be more emphasis on helping people rather than killing them. The biggest problem with war is the high numbers of fatalities.
There are also religious questions involved.
Does it affect the way you vote? It does with me.

I'm broadly anti-war, but "pacifist" is definitely the wrong word.

Yes, I can understand the distinction. "Pacifist" tends to imply that there are no
exceptions, but anti-war could be more like "Only go to war as the last option".

I'm for killing very bad people doing very bad things.  Very much for it in fact.  I'm not sure what that makes me.  I voted lean hawk.

Yeah, I don't really look at it that way. I'm non-interventionist, and that's for both positive (aid, etc.) and negative intervention (bombing, gun running, nation-building, etc.). If something or someone threatens us here in my country, then I am for taking whatever action is necessary.

I'm strongly against meddling against dictators. It's up to the people of their countries to overthrow them if they don't want them. Supporting rebels and various factions in other countries is literally the worst part of US foreign policy.

Probably a 1 in the UK, but in an American context, more 2.
