I disliked Edwards since 2004 primary. He always seemed to me an empty suit and I was greaty dissapointed he was picked for VP.
I fell for him in 2004 after Dean dropped out. Both my parents voted for him that year in protest because they thought (like I did) that Kerry was doomed. I was 16 and literally flying across the country when he was announced as Kerry's VP pick. At the time, I was really excited.
Unfortunately, I was wrong. I never did see the appeal of John Edwards in 2008, but it wasn't for any specific reason. As for what he did to his wife, it is something that I cannot ever excuse. On the other hand, Elizabeth Edwards seemed to be one of the nicest people you could ever meet. She certainly didn't deserve the husband she had or the unfortunate death she had to face.
