I've been told I'm textbook establishment, been told I'm a RINO, and been told I'm a nut.  Who here is part of their party's establishment?

I understand that but as far as where you stand on the issues?

Somewhere between the establishment and the Tea Party, but since I support Rubio and dislike Trump it's probably fair to say that I'm relatively pro-establishment; voted yes.

There's no such thing as an "establishment" voter, almost by definition. Unless you're part of the partisan press, party apparatus, a politician, a large donor, a member of a major advocacy group/think tank, or some other form of talking head, you're not part of the Establishment.

I come off as a conservative libertarian such as Goldwater, Cruz, or the Pauls.  My position on the issues isn't always as sharp as my rhetoric though.

I don't really agree, unless one wants to take the question extremely literally. I think the question implies: "Do your intra-party preferences and your views on issues align with establishment candidates?" Seems like a reasonable question.

That's all I was referring to.  Are you really from the Netherlands?

I guess so. My main disagreements with the Republicans are on issues that non-establishment candidates are usually worse on (abortion, gay marriage, marijuana, etc.).

I'm not in a party, tho I do have friends and family who are not merely in a party but literally part of the establishment.  One's had to curtail his politics a bit, at least officially, since he's on a county election commission.

The establishment isn't really a monolithic ideological block, so I couldn't tell.

Yes. Despite my recent misgivings, I feel like I'm a textbook member of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. From Wikipedia:

"Liberal Democrats are to the left of centrist Democrats but more moderate than the progressive wing in the party. The liberal faction was dominant in the party for several decades, although they have been hurt by the rise of centrist forces such as President Bill Clinton. Compared to conservatives and moderates, liberal Democrats have advocated protectionism, more spending on welfare and social programs, multiculturalism, a less militaristic foreign policy, and have a reputation of being more forceful in pushing for civil liberties. Many consider the progressive faction to be liberal, but this is refuted by many progressives, because while progressives advocate for progressivism and social democracy, liberals tend to advocate social liberalism.

Prominent liberal Democrats include the current US President Barack Obama, 2016 Presidential Candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer (California), Russ Feingold (Wisconsin), Tom Harkin (Iowa), and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (California)."

To the right of the Social Justice Warriors (Progressive), to the left of Bill Clinton (centrist), and way to the left of the true Blue Dogs (Mary Landrieu). I think I fit right in.

No, I'm pretty far to the left of the Democrats. I only support them because they're the lesser of two evils.

Yes, I am an "establishment Republican" for the most part, but I get sick of the misconceptions that the far right and the news media peddle about us.  The Republican establishment is not "moderate," it is relatively conservative.  We're only moderates when compared to the Tea Partiers and ideology purists.

Perhaps, but I'm definitely on the left within the Democratic Establishment. I'd probably place myself somewhere close to Nancy Pelosi, who I think is on the left within the Establishment (particularly as someone who was in the Congressional Progressive Caucus).

Well in a weird sense I'm very much establishment labour (in that I could be seen as part of the 'soft left') but I'm also anti-establishment in disliking/opposing Corbyn who is the elected leader (and is starting to spread his power through the NEC and PLP)

For the democrats I'm much more establishment; supporting people like Murphy, Clinton and Duckworth although on issues I'm pretty progressive

This is a deeply weird series of answers, to a deeply weird (almost nonsensical) question.
