Also, he is not interested in being anyone's running-mate:

Kasich: 'Ballgame is over' if I get 'smoked' in NH

Under his definition of "smoked", he probably needs to come in at least 3rd place or a close 4th behind only one establishment candidate. If it's Trump, Cruz, Kasich, that's pretty much a win for him.

It's unfortunate that groan-worthy mixed metaphors aren't adequate grounds for an FEC complaint.

Judging from the polls, he may become the top establishment candidate in NH. If he were to come in second behind Trump (as he has in several polls), I'd imagine he'd stay in the race.

Just like Romney/Paul/Huntsman was such a big victory in 2012?

I'd write it as a win if he came 4th, if Jeb Bush is behind him.

Romney was establishment. Neither Trump nor Cruz are.

I don't think fourth would cut it for Kasich, unless it was somehow Trump/Cruz/Fiorina/Kasich.

If it's something like Trump 23%, Cruz 16%, Rubio 14%, and Kasich 13%, that's close enough to Rubio that Kasich can justify staying in.

If it were Trump/Cruz/Christie/Kasich and Kasich were within a point or so of Christie, I could see Kasich staying in, given that he would be ahead of the two supposedly most formidable establishment names. If he is behind Bush (lol) or Rubio, though, I suspect he'll get out.

Well, Govs have had a tough go at it this year, and Huckabee & Jeb are the other ones.  Kasich is one of those good guy GOPers, but its probably gonna be a loss for them this year anyways. But, he would pf came very close to winning.

It's very smart to tell voters: You can make me or break me. It is not the media that decides it, but you. Very smart. "I like you tonight."

I may be underestimating how egocentric Kasich is, but if he isn't the #1 establishment candidate (which I'll define as Rubio, Christie, Kasich, Bush, and theoretically Gilmore) in New Hampshire, he might decide that defeating Trump is the main priority and he should support whoever the establishment is supporting.

I don't think anyone wants him as their running mate after witnessing his debate performances.

They could use the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man to grab attention.
