Louisiana voted for a gay marriage ban by three points more than Arkansas, so voted Arkansas.

Were the gay marriage bans in the same year?  I find it hard to believe Arkansas has any large socially liberal population that can counter New Orleans.

Same year, but LA's was in Sept. while AR's was in Nov.

Also, New Orleans votes Dem mostly due to blacks not social liberals.

Arkansas if it is just based on pro-life issues, but Louisiana if everything is included.  Both are strongly socially conservative, however.
