I didn't memorize states alphabetically, but geographically.  I could probably even draw a reasonable map from scratch.  Sadly, I'd need to do a refresher if capitals had to be included.
Same, geographically is how I learned them.  Starting in the NW and going south and then up and down, sometimes pausing to do groups.  I can usually remember all the capitals too, but I sometimes flip NH and VT's capitals.  And occasionally KY and SC for some reason.

but alphabetical?  Not of the top of my head, no.  Give me a pencil, a small sticky note and 2 minutes I could tell you though.

Alphabetically, no. Geographically, yes. I think I could get all 50 state capitals, but I'm not confident something wouldn't elude me; 45+ is definite. I know I can name all 100 Senators (Atlas, I know...), and, again, I think I could get all 50 electoral vote numbers (45+ is definite) and all 50 governors (45+ is definite, again).

oooh, capitals.  I'll give that a go:

Alabama  Montgomery (even though that Lynnyrd Skynnyrd song mentions Birmingham)
Alaska  Juneau (even though that Michelle Shocked song mentions Anchorage)
Arizona  Phoenix (been there, done that, bought a t-shirt)
Arkansas  Little Rock (who doesn't remember the 1992 presidential election?)
    California  Sacramento (easy)
    Colorado  Denver (easy)
    Connecticut  Hartford (little harder)
Delaware  hmmm..  Okay, I'll go with Dover.  Pretty sure it's Dover.
    Florida  Tallahassee (love that name)
    Georgia  Atlanta, maybe?
    Hawaii  Honolulu
    Idaho  Boise
Illinois  Springfield (but probably a different one than Homer's)
Indiana  tough one...  Fort wayne, maybe?
    Iowa  DesMoines
Kansas  Carry on my wayward son.  Not sure, Lawrence maybe?
    Kentucky  Lexington
    Louisiana  Red Stick
Maine  Augusta (I was in the Capitol City Motel in Augusta eating sardine pizza the night Diana was killed)
Maryland  Anapolis (the oldest and largest slave market british north america, as I recall)
Massachusetts  Boston (rhymes with Austin, sort of)
Michigan  tough one...  Flint?  Ann Arbor?  Sheboygan?  Hell, I don't know this one.
    Minnesota  Saint Paul (easy)
    Mississippi  Jackson
    Missouri  Jefferson City
    Montana  Helena Bonham Carter
Nebraska  Lincoln (penis of the plains)
    Nevada  Carson City
    New Hampshire  Concord
    New Jersey  Morristown, maybe?
New Mexico  Santa Fe (I think that might be the oldest capital in the US)
    New York  Albany
    North Carolina  Raleigh
    North Dakota  Bismarck
    Ohio  Columbus
    Oklahoma  Oklahoma City
    Oregon  Eugene
    Pennsylvania  Harrisburg
Rhode Island  Providence (Home of Lupe's, where I saw a good many rock concerts)
    South Carolina  Columbia
    South Dakota  Pierre
    Tennessee  Nashville
Texas  Austin (Rhymes with Boston, sort of)
    Utah  Salt Lake City
    Vermont  Montpelier
    Virginia  Richmond
    Washington  Olympia
    West Virginia  Charleston
    Wisconsin  Mad Madison
Wyoming  Cheyenne (that always sounds like a stripper's name and it makes me giggle)

Let's see how I did.  Oops.  Missed a few.  I highlighted the ones I got wrong with red.  I got 44 of 50.  Pretty sad, really.  I think I need to study a little.

In other news, Hudson came within one vote of being made the capital of New York, rather than that sh**tty little dump to the north called Albany.

Very bad, indeed.  I freely admitted as much in my post.  I'll also admit to not knowing that glorious Hudson was nearly, and probably should be, the capital of the Empire State.

In other news, I am aware that Lancaster was capital of Pennsylvania from 1799 to 1812, that Rio de Janeiro was capital of Brazil until 1960, and that Belize City was the capital of Belize until 1981, and I am more familiar with all those places than I am of either Indianapolis or Hudson, both of which are, to me, more than anything else, places where you can find a 24-hour Walmart.  Smiley
