This just happened in the last week. 

Honestly, I think it's stupid that anyone would write a book like this and NOT realize it would be controversial.  What the critics conveniently ignore, however, is that toward the end of his life, Washington became increasingly uneasy with slavery and even attempted to free his slaves while he was still living.
