Making such topics about other users is kinda strange and I don't really get why people do that.

He's certainly gotten much better recently, assuming he isn't a sock.

He's quite knowledgeable, generally courteous, and more open-minded than a lot of other folks I've met around here. However, it's possible that this is just my virtual inability to insult others here.

It's the Lord of the Flies mentality. In a perfect utopia run by me, such topics would not exist. But we seem to be moving away from utopia about everywhere these days, rather than towards it, so such topics alas have a very long expected half life. Resistance is futile.

I do drop by from time to time, to say something nice about folks, who I think deserve a pat on the back, or are under-appreciated. That aspect I like. And in the case of the subject poster, he is doing much, much better. Perhaps he will prove to be my most singular "success story."  Good job hpmw! Smiley

I think with some exposure to the wealth of knowledge that can be found on this site RE: political history/context, he could be a FF.  Right now, he seems to view things in too simplistic of terms.

I still think he's a troll. Remember that poll about privatising oxygen? That's the sort of thing a ham-fisted leftist hack writer would put in his capitalist dystopia novel.

Thanks for your input. Sometimes I am a little brief in my knowledge of things. Weekend nights I try to add more because I have more time.

Been here for over 12 years, and I don't get that either.  Not sure why it's even allowed.  Don't get me wrong:  I'm for legalized prostitution, drugs, gambling, and shouting fire in a crowded theater.  Moreover, I don't support suppression of free speech generall.  Threads supporting terrorism, bigotry, forced marriage, slavery, teenage prostitution, drug abuse, just about anything, would be allowed in my perfect world, but when it comes to these sorts of threads, I actually get offended.  Ad hominem attack strikes me as unseemly, rude, uncouth, ill bred, and downright mean.  I'm not sure why it is allowed.  Not that I'm for censorship of any sort, but given that the moderators are generally so uptight about most other things, it still surprises me that these flags are permitted to fly.

No I compared Sanders thinking he can tell the courts how to rule to Nazism.  That was my understanding of the article unless I misread it.

All he meant was that he will only nominate a person for the SC who believes Citizens United was a bad interpretation of the Constitution that must be overturned. A lot of people, myself included, agree. In fact, I wish they would go back as far as Buckley (not all of it, but notably the money/speech thing).

There is nothing wrong with this. People of different ideologies and different ways of interpreting the Constitution are going to come to different conclusions. He simply wants someone who doesn't think unlimited independent donations are perfectly OK. No different than a conservative who wants justices that believe Roe v Wade was an invalid interpretation.
