Bernie Sanders' "rape fantasy" essay

If a Republican had written an essay like that in any context, the sort of people who support Sanders would be all over it. I think it's odd, but apparently it's okay for most people.

This attack was a dud 6 months ago or whenever when it was tried against Bernie. But to be fair, it's not like you guys have anything else to attack Bernie with.

Meanwhile, no one has really attacked Hillary for her SoS / Clinton Foundation pay to play issues.

It's actually not a dud in a general election. Even having to explain such an essay is quite awkward and distracts from the actual issues.

If any other candidate had written this, Republican or Democrat, the Sandernistas would be screaming bloody murder about it.

It's fine to still like Sanders anyway, since he obviously doesn't believe stuff like this anymore and hasn't in a long time, but come on guys, just admit that you're giving Sanders a free pass that you wouldn't give anyone else.

Look, anyone who doesn't think this will be an issue in a general election is totally delusional. The GOP and the media are going to play wave after wave of this. They're going to make him totally toxic to suburban swing voters. Even conservative minority Democrats (and there are a hell of a lot of them) will think this rape-essay-writing atheist-Jew-socialist who honeymooned in the Soviet Union and admiringly waxed poetic about Fidel Castro on TV is a radical weirdo who they don't want in the White House.

Sounding uneasy and concerned, a woman reads from the essay.

"A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused.

"A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.

"The man and woman get dressed up on Sunday — and go to Church, or maybe to their 'revolutionary' political meeting."

Full colour, upbeat music, TRUMP with his wife at Thanksgiving dinner or something, all smiling.

TRUMP: "This guy, he wants to rape women. It's disgusting and wrong. I love women. I have a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter. I think they're terrific."

"Donald Trump. The only candidate who respects women. Make America Great Again."

I can completely see Trump running an ad like that and it would work.

Sanders supporters are like some sort of weird cult. I've actually read posts from them saying "believe in the magic" and all sorts of weird things. They think Sanders is some sort of supernatural being. Sick.
