I've always been against it, still am.  Doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon, but they, apparently, are "shifting towards" it.

(though playing the baseball manager sim OOTP, I've come to LOVE it....way too many players keep a good bat but become crappy fielders in their mid to late 30s.)

I used to hate it, but I've come to love it.  Seen far too many great pitchers hurting themselves trying to hit and run around the bases.  Switching to the NL to the DH is hardly the most important thing that the league needs to do, but I would welcome the change.

Hate the DH. Not pure baseball. Plus there is nothing better than when a pitcher throws an outstanding game and hits a HR to support his cause. If the junior circuit needs its security blanket then fine, but keep it out of the NL!

That being said...if the DH comes to the NL next year, I would enjoy how that benefits the Cubs by playing Schwarber as the DH and not having to put him in the field. That would be more than ideal.

Still...DH is stupid!

Good. Pitcher's job is to pitch. Plus, DH-ing can give older players something to do, so I'm all in for it. About time, in fact!

Even as an AL guy, this is terrible.  There's an entire element of strategy in the NL (read: traditional baseball) than there is in the AL, and that's what to do with your pitcher who's throwing a gem but on deck in the bottom of the 7th inning with the game tied.  Pinch hit, go for the lead and give up his pitching or let him swing away and get to keep him on the mound?

Good for Dodgers, who will benefit from DH, as well as SF, who play alot of long ball and hit alot of homers. Mets & Cubsare pitchers games.

Colorado Rockies too, at Mile High.

Actually decent analysis that I hadn't thought of...I like the different rules for the different leagues personally. Makes the game very strategic and interesting. I prefer no DH despite being an AL fan, but I like how it keeps a handful of good hitters employed a little longer. Good balance.

I like the fact that the NL and AL don't use identical rule sets.  In-season interleague play was a bad idea that was adopted for a quick buck that weakened the distinction between the leagues. It doesn't need further weakening. It's a shame we don't have four leagues with different rule sets.  For obvious reasons I'd like to see the Federal League revived as a major league. Wink

Interleague is garbage, expanded playoffs are awful, but this would make me stop watching baseball.

This will only help Dogers, Giants & Rockies. Due to the heavy play at Mile High Std, while the other Divisions will hate it. But, homerun ball was what fans wanted in 1998 with McGuire & Sosa. I say bring it.

Works both ways though, as the pitching staff will hate pitching in Denver even more.

I just wish that both leagues had the same rules, whether DH or no DH. It's really weird that the World Series plays by two different sets of rules.

Leaving DH alone which was just announced, really doesnt mean much to fans except in interleague interstate rivalry. Cards v Royals, Dodgers v Anaheim, Oak v SF, Mets v Yanks and Cubs v Sox. Intrastate Red Sox v Phillies & Orioles v Pirates.

I'm an AL fan who hates it.  It's not baseball.  It's the one thing good about the NL, lol.

If we add the DH to the NL, we won't get to see Bartolo Colon at the plate again.

A pitcher hitting every eighth or ninth time around is baseball like a defensive lineman playing quarterback every eight or ninth down is football. You know what I'd rather do? Just eliminate the ninth spot in the order rather than send the pitcher up for an automatic out.
