To be honest though I doubt anyone is going to really care about this. This is the guy who's attacked a war veteran, women, called Mexicans rapists and so forth. If anything his supporters will just go "yeah, the the government is anti-white, Trump's just telling the truth".

I'd not be surprised if this was deliberate by Trump. The media will spend their time covering this now instead of the National Review and all the prominent conservatives attacking Trump and his credentials. I think looking at Trump's base from a purely political perspective, attacks on a candidate's conservative credentials could have more of an impact than on questions about if a candidate is racist or for that matter has literal Nazi sympathies. Most Trump supporters don't seem like the types to be offended by this. And if the polls are right currently, that's a large enough group now to win him the nomination.

That's fair. Trump (or his interns) definitely don't take the time to vet statistics; his campaign is far more emotionally-based than empirically-based.

As I said many times before, Trump is an idiot.

How on earth is this stupid? It gets the term in the media through discussion. Some people will then google White Genocide, and some of those people will read what comes up and be converted to the white nationalist movement and join up with its causes, helping Trump. In the meantime he has plausible deniability saying he was just looking at the tweet and it's political correctness gone mad that anyone would make a big deal out of it.

He gets a free way to push a few of his followers into the white nationalist movement, sends them a wink that he's simpatico to their cause, and gets total plausible deniability with his mainstream audience.

There's nothing stupid about this, it's one more sign of how Donald Trump is the most skilled politician of our time.
