With President Bush approval at 59%, no one in his party has challenged him for renomination. President Bush has come through with many of his promises  : which include cutting the top tax rate to 30%, has reduced the deficit from over 250 billion to under 15 billion with the help of Vice President Kasich , and reforming welfare which now requires everyone on welfare to get high skilled  job training and limits the amount of time someone on welfare to 3 years. He points to his economic record of reducing unemployment from 7.2% to 5% now, and the stock doubling. In the 1994 midterms the Republicans lost 6 seats in the house and gained 5 seats in the Senate.

On the Democrats Dick Gephard and Governor Clinton are running on a centrist platform, with the main different between the two is Gephard argues he can work better with Congress as he is a congressman and Clinton saying he is better prepared to take the presidency because of his gubernatorial record.

Richards and Bradley are running on a Liberal platform , saying the economy is only growing because of a bubble, and saying they will try to rein in on the bubble with regulations and having programs which help the lower class. Bradley though says he will push for gun control in office, while Richards touts her achievements in Texas arguing she is better prepared then any of the candidates .

So far it looks like the Democratic nomination will come down to Richards and Bradley

OOC: Since when was Richards more liberal than pro-UHC Clinton '92?

It looks like Ann Richards as won the Democratic nomination due to making a deal with gephard and now Richards/Gehpard will challenge Bush/Kasich for the presidency on the 5th of November 1996. Now we will head to the richards camp for her nomination speech

Richards: Thank You, Thank You, I am humbled to be your nominee for president. Tonight we begin our journey to take America back and make sure every American can move up in life and not just the rich.
