2016: Emanuel Cleaver/Al Franken v. Marco Rubio/Susanna Martinez

Representative Emanuel Cleaver runs and wins the Democratic primaries after Hillary declines to run. He does poorly with Hispanics, losing nearly 10% of them from Obama 2012 in most polls, but he's down only 3-5% with African-Americans and up 3-5% with whites and 18-25 year olds. Rubio has pushed Nevada and Colorado into his camp in all likelihood. With his focus on Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Nevada, and Nex Mexico, he has allowed Cleaver to push on Indiana, Missouri, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

Cleaver's hard fought fight with Elizabeth Warren and Martin O'Malley left 35+ whites and the working poor(Warren's base) and 18-35 whites and the upper middle class(O'Malley's base) hurting, until Al Franken united the party and Gavin Newsom gave a keynote speech looking to the future. With the help of the DNC, Cleaver has ran a strong campaign against Rubio.
