He's pledged not to run for Governor in 2018 against Charlie Baker, but that doesn't leave him with many upward options. Elizabeth Warren will almost certainly run again in 2018, and I can see Ed Markey being a Senate lifer now that he's there.

So where does that leave Kennedy?

2022 run for governor, when Baker is term-limited. Kennedy is only 35.

The Governor of Massachusetts doesn't face term limits. That being said, I can't see him running for a 3rd term. Although the rumor, as reported by the Globe, seems to be that the LG Karyn Polito has her eye on it.

Yeah I would say a run for Governor in 2022 is a strong possibility. He'd be the frontrunner for that I would think. He's still very young too, so he could gain more experience in the House and wait for a Senate seat to open up, that's also a possibility.

Runs in the special election for Elizabeth Warren's seat when she becomes VP or is on Clinton's cabinet Tongue

I feel like Markey is likely to retire in 2020. That could present an opportunity for Kennedy or Moulton.

Depends what he wants to do. Last I read, he was staying in the House for a while. Just a guess, but my suspicion is Mansion over Senate.

He's a Kennedy, so I'm guessing "what's next" is something horrific.

People have seen him as a Warren replacement when she moves on to either run for President or take a position in the cabinet

Probably a trip to Dallas or the Ambassador Hotel.

Maybe he'll fly there himself.
