What if Hillary, after she defeated Cruz or Trump, becomes president but resigns for health reasons during her term? Let's say in October 2018. Vice President Julian Castro assumes the presidency. Gets he reelected in 2020?

Btw: Does the timing matter? How many time is left till the election? I choose October 2018, a few weeks before the midterms because it happend that way in House of Cards.

I think Castro would be reelected unless a mjor crises/scandal emerges.

President Julian Castro (D-TX)/Vice President Ed Markey (D-MA): 326 EV. (51.04%)
Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR)/Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA): 212 EV. (47.49%)
