What If obama calls off election, declares himself prez for a 3rd term?

Assume that he does this in Late April, because of it being clear that the general is Sanders vs. Trump. He threatens to dissolve congress and SCOTUS too if they try to impeach him or otherwise force him out of office, and to take away all tax dollars from any state that tries to hold the election anyway.

How would congress, the states, the candidates etc. react?

Saying that someone who wasn't there won is just plain idiotic. All it means is that for whatever reason, you thought all the candidates tied or didn't feel like picking a winner among the candidates who actually bothered to attend, so just said the name of someone who wasn't there as a troll, copout option. And yes, anyone who thinks you can win by not attending is a joke analyst and Troll.

Since he'd dissolve congress and SCOTUS, there's no way to remove him outside of the secret service physically forcing him outside the door. And most states would not hold the election, as without tax dollars they'd be bankrupt, so Obama being physically forced out would lead to President John Kerry.

Anyway, congress would impeach Obama. If Joe Biden was in on these shenanigans, they'd impeach him too, Paul Ryan would become president, and he'd order the FBI/ National Guard/ whoever to arrest Obama and forcibly remove him from the White House.  I guess how violent that confrontation got would depend on who the Secret Service chose to recognize as President.

He's impeached and removed by a bipartisan majority. If he refuses to abide and attempts to make himself a dictator, the military steps in and arrests him. As soon as the state of emergency is over, likely within days, Biden or Ryan is installed as President per the order of succession, and the election is allowed to proceed.

This isn't going to happen, though, because Bloomberg will be leading by 20 come September in a Trump vs. Sanders election.

It's a completely ridiculous question, but it's an interesting hypothetical. Not necessarily anti-Obama bias, or at least it doesn't have to be. Just a crazy scenario. Take off your partisan hats, forget it's "Obama" and think of it as just "a President." It's more fun to think of this crazy scenario than bash Wulfric (who is being silly by thinking this is any more than a crazy scenario).

I'd assume that someone, most likely everyone, would turn against a President doing this. By hook or by crook, by begging, borrowing stealing, or whatever cliche you like, they would get him/her out.

Now, to put on my government-conspiracy hat, and realizing, of course, that I'm not a lunatic, this is how you become Eternal President: chaos. Martial law. Either by allowing something to happen or, more likely, staging something, like: terrorist attack, alien invasion, major armed rebellion, natural mega-disaster, or even a nuclear war with Russia.

At that point, whoever's President, they'll need to keep him/her in office, right? I mean, you couldn't just hold an election, and then transition the government? Of course not. That way, the terrorists/aliens/rebels/volcano/hurricane/Russians/Chinese/whatevers win! No, you establish Martial Freaking Law. Think it doesn't work that way? Look at the Patriot Act. Clearly a violation of personal liberty, no matter who you are, but it was allowed to pass. Why? Motivation by fear.

You don't become a dictator by calling yourself a dictator. You make them want you as their dictator--no, you make them need you as their dictator. Motivate by emotion: possibly love, but more likely hatred, and good ol' fear.

Again, I don't believe any of this will happen. But if you want to become a dictator, or at the very least horridly smash human rights, this is basically how to do it.
