I actually wouldn't be surprised if he got at least 1% after his solid performance in the last undercard debate.  But still, lol.

A journey of 1237 delegates and 270 EVs begins with a single vote. #GILMENTUM

That is funny.
By the way, in the last few weeks I am noticing the phrase "all of a sudden" popping up everywhere.  For most of my life the phrase was usually rendered as "all of the sudden", using the definitive article.  Even then, it was considered to be poor English.  This phrase was even ridiculed on the show Family Guy several years ago.

Wow, I actually clicked this article. Huckabee is throwing shade at the Gil.

I don't think Huckabee is in any position to talk about viable candidacies, when he's gone from winning Iowa in 08 to polling at 2%.

This is like Martin O'Malley going negative on Willie Wilson, and about as funny/pathetic.

Also of interest, when the undercard debate lineup was announced, Huckabee was apparently surprised to learn that Gilmore was still in the race:

I like how Gilmore says that Iowa is too expensive for him to compete in.  He can't afford the cost of flying out there or what?  I mean, if Iowa is too expensive, what about states with expensive TV markets?  Does Gilmore only have the money to compete in states with a population of less than 2 million, which are also small enough that he can drive around in them without spending too much on gas money?  That's rather limiting.

Gilmore is a broke retired politician who's just keeping his name out there so people remember who he is on the off chance he can get an ambassadorship or something, since he's already been governor of Virginia and can't really go anywhere from there.

I kind of want to see him get literally zero votes now just to see his reaction.

This would be a lot harder in the Democratic race.

He could run for Governor again and use that as a better stepping stone. Virginia doesn't let an incumbent Governor run for re-election right after, but they can run again 4 years later.

I swear, Virginia's elections are messed up. Governors only allowed to run for 1 term in a row, and all state contests are held on insanely low turnout odd-number election years. It's almost the perfect system for contemporary conservatives - As if politicians over a hundred years ago anticipated a time where Virginia might start turning blue, with conservatives benefiting from low turnout elections.

The most important thing here is that he is given an article in front of his name: he is no longer simply Jim Gilmore, he is THE Gilmore.

Even Tom Tancredo got 5 votes in Iowa after dropping out two weeks prior.

Didn't notice that, but that is indeed amazing.

Are there any random people on the ballot? Do the Republican caucuses even have a ballot? I know that the Dems don't.

The Gilmore would get 1 vote in Virginia, except that there's basically no way he'd be on the ballot.

There's no ballot, but anything not for a major candidate is collectively reported as "other" by the state GOP (unless someone actually got a delegate somehow).

But what I'm talking about is Gilmore beating someone notable. My prediction has Kasich in 12th, Gilmore in 11th.

Interesting. I don't recall having ever seen the phrasing "all of the sudden" before I read your comment. Infact, "all of a sudden" is seemingly the correct usage: http://grammarist.com/usage/all-of-a-sudden-or-all-of-the-sudden/
