If Bob Packwood didn't have an affair in the first place or at least didn't get caught, would he still have been in the Senate into the 2000s or 2010s?

He'd probably be retired by now, but I don't see any reason why he couldn't have lasted into the 2000's.  With a bit of luck, Gordon Smith could've easily been a Senator to the present day, after all.
