What if there were a contest between an establishment ticket and a populist ticket for the 2016 election? Each ticket with one candidate from the GOP and one from the Dems.

Hillary's VP is Kasich and The Trump picks Bernie. The Trump/Sanders ticket runs on this platform: End Super PACs, renegotiate trade deals, expand social security and lower taxes for middle and low incomes while higher taxes on the wealthy. Trump accepts to an increase of the minimum wage, agrees to act on climate change while Sanders agrees to build the wall, deport illegal immigrants, no further gun control and a strong military.

A little bit of ghosting here, but here's a map with some hindsight of the actual outcome. Didn't really mean for it to come out to 306-232

Establishment wins 286-252

reverse the tickets

Establishment wins 344-194. Sanders is not worse than Trump, rather Kasich is much better than Clinton and gets a number of lucky wins.
