Can you stop attention-whoring about this? We get it. All liberal all the time.

While you're at it, can you explain the substantive policy opinions that informed your change in support? Or is your change strictly informed by a herd mentality, as you have been suggesting? Was your support for Hillary so superficial that it could be washed away by the rank desire to march lockstep with your generation, like you said?

You do realise this does not make you look good in any way whatsoever?

If anything it's odd that Clinton has significant support at all on Atlas. Going by demographics (young white males) this site should basically be r/Sandersforpresident. Sanders got 84% of the under 30 vote in IA, probably over 90% of white males under 30.
Maybe it's the LGBT representation.

I...this is incomprehensible to me. Voting by herd mentality is literally the least likely thing for me to do. I have lots of problems--lots--but this is not one of them. Me and BRTD are evidently on the opposite sides of the spectrum: me never voting for major parties unless it's a Republitarian, and him literally voting based on who supports that candidate, with "everyone else" in between us on said spectrum.

On a separate note, I do find it interesting (and amusing) how the candidate trying to seem "cool," Clinton, has mostly just supporters who were old enough to vote for Bill in '92 (and probably several elections before that), while the grumpy old guy is getting most of the young vote. Brilliant.

Multiple reasons could go into that: young people don't attach nostalgia to the "Clinton" name (I, for example, was born in his presidency and was too young to notice "politics" by the time it ended), young people know they're will be women presidents in the future, so they don't care about getting one now, but it could simply just be that younger voters prefer more outside-the-box candidates (see: Paul, Ron) while older voters prefer the same old establishment candidates.

How on Earth is this any different from identifying as Catholic even if you believe nothing about it because of "muh culture"? It's almost the exact same thing, making an identification because of your demographic profile in your ethnic background.

I'll explain more after work.

No, it's like attending a Catholic church, praying, and acting as if you entirely believe the substance of Catholicism, just for cultural identification purposes.  Which is ridiculous too.

I say "so help me God," and "under God," with respect to those oaths, not believing in God. Is that ridiculous? I don't think it irrational to participate in ceremonial rituals, for tradition's sake, or for communitarian purposes, even if you don't believe some of the substance, myself. Heck, I have even taken communion in an Episcopal Church a couple of times, attending funerals, when invited to do so. Why not?

It basically was for early 2015. But Atlas is also very contrarian.

You must be pretty dumb if you don't think someone like Hagrid is smart. Maybe be a little nicer to someone you've had limited interaction with. It's a good way to get along.

I know, I know. "This user is currently ignored."

Seriously, what is it with aggressive people coming on here to call out a good majority of solid posters?

I don't know. I eagerly anticipate being one of only two young people in the Hillary subcaucus, the other one being a nice, sweet girl, us bonding over our mutual admiration of Mrs. Clinton, going on a few dates, falling in love, getting married, having kids, naming them Bill and Hillary...

Maybe wishful thinking.

Huh...this actually makes sense. Although I'd say that one doesn't make the other excusable, simply that both are silly.

Which is why in the past few years I've slowly but surely left both the Republican Party and Protestantism because I slowly realized I believed in the substance of neither.

Also, this site tends to attract people who at least exhibit some intelligence.
So I guess you're the exception to the rule?

From what I've seen, you're fairly good for a new poster, especially one of your age, but Hagrid's been a quality poster and good guy for a long time.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I suppose you're simply making knee-jerk reactions because you've only really seen him as a Hillary fan.

Be slow to judge someone as an idiot, because you look bad if you're wrong. I get the impulse to make snarky comments on the internet, but don't go too far unless it's someone you know (Hagrid apparently isn't), a jerk (Hagrid isn't), or they did it to you first (Hagrid did not).

This is advice to live by, especially in the monotone world of the text-only conversation. I often don't follow my own advice, but when I slip up I always get burned (...kind of like Hillary will in NH Tongue).
