http://www.mcall.com/news/nationworld/pennsylvania/capitol-ideas/mc-report-rick-santorum-to-assess-campaign-after-iowa-results-20160202-story.html

This is a change in tone from last night, when he was tweeting about starting a tour of SC.

As the second to last place finisher, he should drop out. Along with The Gilmore.

Please take Fiorina, Gill & the rest of bottom carders with you. This should turn into a Cruz vs Trump vs  Rubio contest with Rand Paul, the outsider staying in the debate(who has his own demographic)

Santorum should totally drop out. He put all his focus on Iowa, and only got 1%. Take a note from Huckabee.

Gilmore should NOT drop out, because he's focused on New Hampshire. He'll drop out after then.

My guess is that Jim Gilmore has only stayed to this point because he didn't want to be known as a candidate who dropped out of the Presidential Primaries twice before they kicked off.  Judging by some fo the things he's said, his 'legacy' is clearly very important to him.

I don't think Gilmore, Santorum, Christie or Fiorina are going to make much of a difference in NH.

Santorum isn't going to manage anything if he stays. A miracle isn't going to happen. Time to drop.

Drop out like the other former Iowa winner. The state is a damn curse.

I look forward to Ted Cruz finishing in 9th place in Iowa 2020.

Didn't he say he was gonna drop out unless he beat the single-digit candidates in Iowa?

I knew he'd pull a Bachmann. Say he's not dropping out on election night, then drop out a day or two later.

Does anyone have a theory on why candidates do this? It seems so pointless.

Tricky Ricky

At first I thought after Iowa he was surely finished if he didn't get Iowa Miracle 2.0. Then when he said he was gonna tour SC I was like "dang he's gonna run off in the middle of the night to SC when nobody is looking and/or focusing on NH", perform better than expected in SC, then use that as an excuse to stay in until Super Tuesday.

But now I'm not sure. Could he be playing mind games? He never guaranteed that he would be gone after Iowa. Then he says SC is his focus. Now he's reassessing his campaign, for what? To discuss dropping out? Or reassess his strategy for SC Miracle 1.0?

Man....

Firstly it is hard to let go. Also, they may feel obligated to be optimistic with their supporters at their election night event. It is easier to drop out later at a press conference.

I suspect he will drop out before NH. He is broke and there are no more kiddie table debates.

There are so many things that Rick Santorum needs to reassess.
