Semi-related question: do Americans really use the word "hetero" like this? Terms like hetero and homo are normal in Dutch, but don't they have a bit of a weird connotation in English, "straight" and "gay" being more regular / having a more "neutral" connotation?
Nope

I don't get why LGBT+ people tend to support Clinton. She never supported same-sex marriage until 2013, when it was already a completely mainstream opinion.

A lot of gay men probably have this misguided perception of her as a Streisand/Garland type.

Er, no honey.

CXSmith, stop embarrassing yourself with memes you found on Tumblr.

I don't look for memes on Tumblr.

Nope as in: we don't use it, or nope as in: not weird?

"Homo" is actually considered a derogatory slur in English. "Hetero" isn't but is still kind of rarely used.

That's sort of what I thought, thanks.

Funny, because "homo" is the more "neutral" word in Dutch whereas "gay" has a certain stigma and is used as a slur, although some people do self-identify as "gay" as well.

How are heterosexual trans people supposed to vote in this? I'm not one, but I'd like to know.

Anyway, straight white male for Bernie here. I strongly support LGBT rights, but I don't think that's really an issue in the Democratic primary. You could argue that electability is an issue (i.e. a bad Democratic candidate would cause a Republican to win which would hurt LGBT rights) but Hillary basically has the nomination at this point, so I voted for Bernie (absentee) to strengthen the left side of the Democratic Party.
