It's a long article and a good read.  For example, Only about 3,000 potential voters received the Voting Violation mailer.  The campaign's statistical models had those 3,000 at an 85% chance of backing Cruz, anyway.  They didn't waste their time sending the mailer to people who might have been nudged to vote for another candidate.
