I read that as "Introductory Marco Course", which made me confused why Trump was leading.

What percent of students voted in the Democratic vs. the Republican primary in this mock poll?  Or did you just have all students vote in both primaries?

They only got one choice. The breakdown was 62% Dem, 38% GOP.

Interesting results on the Republican side. Would have expected Rubio to be in the lead.

For the record, while I haven't conducted a poll, in my dorm floor study room we are split with maybe 50% for Bernie, 40% for Rubio, and maybe 10% for Kasich (the latter is just because I live in Ohio and he tends to be the default choice for Republicans who are still not very plugged-in to the race). For the record, I know absolutely no one in my generation who openly backs Hillary, and a total of one person, an old high school acquaintance, who openly backs Trump (and I'm decently confident he's doing it to come off as edgy and contrarian in his social circle).

It's also an econ class, which leans more GOP than your average college course.

Interesting results on the Republican side. Would have expected Rubio to be in the lead.

Especially since I'd expect college students in the state of WA to be pretty liberal, I wonder if some of the GOP voters were just Democratic trolls voting for Trump.  I'd expect the breakdown to be more like 75/25 Dem/GOP (rather than 62/38) given the strong correlation between education and voting in the Pacific NW along with the "millenial" factor.

1. Econ is a Republican-leaning major in general

2. Today's college students (well, except the radical protesters) are much more split than those of 2008

3. I would expect Gonzaga and WSU to be much more conservative than UW, and we don't know which school it was.

Why is Trump getting such a high vote btw?

The great depression was the father of Macro-economics & Keynesian economics set the stone. You do have 2 schools of though but every government I know in the world is a Keynesian, classical economics in its pure form has been junked.

Great thing about Macro is there is no absolute right or wrong thing but whether you believe in Keynesian or supply side guy, you are liberal enough to have a rational debate about it.

I think Macro-economics has to be a left leaning subject in general.

Why?  Most college students don't know much about politics.  Other than being a Democrat or Republican I would expect most college students to know more about Trump than anyone else running.  The guy is a celebrity on TV, with a lot of money, and branding everywhere.  You would have to go to school with a ton of hardcore dorks to have a large class of full of people who knew more about Marco Rubio.

As I said in IRC the other night, my school literally only has Trump and Hillary supporters, vast majority Trump. I was incredibly pleased that virtually everyone in my section at basketball last night vocalized support for Trump. Dems I meet are clearly vast majority Hillary except for one nutty SJW girl. The only non-Trump people are the ones going to GS/MS (they are obviously scattered establishment), but even other banks seem to be close to majority Trumpeters. All informal, but gladly confirming your results realisticidealist! Trump has got the youth so excited, maybe more excited than ever before.

Thank you for this HIGHLY RESPECTED poll.
