Cause Santorum's Iowa recount helped his campaign so much.

Even though it's very possible the results are fraudulent, I wouldn't bother contesting them if I was the Sanders campaign. Let the Des Moines Register keep pushing officials about it if they want but his campaign needs to prioritize getting ready for the upcoming states.

If he gets most of the O'Malley delegates, he could win it after all.

Wonderful news. This kook is going to legitimize Trump's claim of fraudulent results and make everyone believe it!

Why would you challenge the results of what is basically a meaningless straw poll? The actual delegates won't even be decided until like May.

But aren't they more-or-less based on the caucus results? Plus, Hillary having to admit she lost Iowa might knock her down a bit in NV.

Ask Rick Santorum how useful a retroactive declaration of an Iowa victory weeks after the fact is.

Is it clear it just isn't an exercise to try to determine if Sanders got more raw votes than Hillary?

I sincerely doubt anyone's records are complete enough to ever determine that with certainty.  Let alone the interpretation of it given recaucusing, etc.

She didn't though.

Didn't Sanders say he wasn't going to challenge this result? I wouldn't be surprised if Weaver did this.
