Sooo Imma start Valentine's Day advice thing lmao. Sooo I have this friend, she's my best friend but now she's going to homeschool and I'm sad now bc she's leaving and we dated for like 3 hours once but not anymore she wasn't over her ex gf and I mean I still do like her but she's going away now and she'd probably reject me anyways. I also like my ex, who cheated o me twice but now she seems different she loves me and we text a lot and I kind of like her too... What do I do?

The vote is should I ask out Mandy or not

Option three, find someone completely different and not really worry about people who are still hung up on past flings and who have cheated on you.

The Professor will help you:

You are 14 and because of this, you cannot experience love. You also cannot experience lust because I'm assuming your testicles have yet to drop. Don't worry, I'm here to give you advice in spite of this.
.
.
.
You need to ask her out. The movies are a safe bet because then you won't screw anything up by saying something stupid. If she agrees, you are in. If she doesn't, you're an idiot for failing to nab a girl.

Since you are 14, you cannot drive. So how can you take her to the movies? It's simple - get your mother to drive you two.

Most importantly though, make sure you finish your homework before doing this.

Are you seriously asking us Atlasians? Most of us have never felt the love of another human being.

Haha this doesn't make any sense, but anyway. If Mandy is the friend, then ask her out. If she is the ex who cheated, f*** her. Never get back together with someone who cheated on you.

If you end up doing long distance with this friend, do not be clingy. The first girl I tried to woo was quickly turned off by that. The second girl got me out of my clingy stage and we got through our 4 years of long distance very well.

(No one needs to point out the hypocrisy with what I said above and who I may or may not endorse for president...)

If Mandy is the girl that's not cheating on you, then freaking go for it and ask her.

And if you successfully ask her out, go watch the movie Fifty Shades of Black. There is nothing like celebrating the holiday by watching a comedy movie that mocks a romantic movie and a romantic novel. I'm not being sarcastic.

Sex isn't bad. I thought it'd be fun to start a running gag.

50 Shades of Black currently has a 7% RT score (shocking, I know).  Don't follow The Arizonan's advice, and just to be safe, put him on ignore.

That's harsh man.

And how did it get such a low score?

There's a certain point where a movie goes from being "bad" to "so bad it's good". It looks like this movie crosses that line, meaning it's a go. Another one in the same vein I would recommend is Big *ss Spider. It was created when Sharknado was a thing, and it has 1960s Batman levels of campy humor.

I've found alcoholism and reading good ways to distract myself from the pangs of melancholy.

Are you seriously asking us Atlasians? Most of us have never felt the love of another human being.

I've been in a few short-lived relationships myself and my last relationship was six years ago.

What is up with internet forums having lots of single guys?

Gee, I wonder why single guys post on the Internet. Hmmm, no, can't think of a single thing.

Follow your heart, and don't use a pick up line; I once used one, I didn't intentionally do it, but I had read a pick up line on the Internet the night before, before I could stop myself, I had said it.

Atlas Forums is probably the worst place to ask for relationship advice. Not only do we most likely suck at that sort of thing, but some of us are probably naive enough to think we don't.

With that disclaimer, if Mandy (reminds me of the Barry Manilow song, by the way) is not the one who cheated, go for it! Seriously, what can go wrong? Well, actually, lots of stuff, but NOTHING worse than the regret of inaction.

Re-read that last sentence, it's twice as important as all the other crap I'm writing combined. Not that that's saying much.

If she is the one who cheated (you were a bit vague on this), I'd recommend "no." But you'll know the situation better than me. If she's really changed, then sure, go for it. But she probably hasn't--love/lust/attraction/whatever has a habit of blinding you to reality and logic, and imagining that a person you kind-of like is really your "soul-mate," or a personification of all of your deepest desires.

It's an emotion that screws people like nothing else. But, theoretically, it can be leveraged into immense happiness and fulfillment. Rarely see it, though.

Or maybe I'm just cynical.
