Last time around she beat Obama by almost 20 points. But BS is a senator from a neighboring state, a fellow new englander. He should probably do better with working class whites than Obama, but Clinton has the African Americans this cycle. Is the state a lock for Hillary or not?

Not a lock, but she's heavily favored. Massachusetts is a machine state, and the machine will do what it needs to do.

As a human from Massachusetts myself, I can safely say it is not a lock.

Lief is probably right. I expect that Clinton will do well - i.e. >60% or at least close to that, and much higher in many cases - in every major county between the Boston metro and northern VA. We should get some interesting county-level variation in the Massachusetts vote, though, even if Clinton wins the state by a wide margin.

No, but it's looking better than the upper New England states.

Massachusetts isn't as liberal as many people believe.

Also, I would like to know whom is going to endorse the mayor of Boston.

Marty Walsh and one thousand of his best machine thugs are heading up to NH to "get out the vote" this weekend: http://www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2016/02/04/walsh-heading-north-with-volunteers/05fzyA73mMXAAwnIBYRnfM/story.html?event=event25

I could see MA going either way. I'd need to see more polling to make an educated guess. I'd give Clinton a slight edge for now, but if Sanders somehow wins the primaries (unlikely IMO), MA will definitely have to be part of his path to victory.

EDIT: Sanders's Vermontiness will be a huge benefit in the western part of the state (except Hampden County) which is culturally similar to Vermont, but less so in the rest.

It isn't a lock for Clinton but I think Sanders will have a difficult time winning here.  While his regional advantage will help, the machine-like nature of MA probably more closely resembles PA than VT or NH.

The interesting wild card in this is that so far, Elizabeth Warren refuses to endorse either way:

How much weight does the Boston metro carry, and how does it normally vote? Is it like a Chicago/Las Vegas or more of a St. Louis (percentage-wise)? I've never been to New England.

Boston itself is very, very Democratic. Much of the metro area is Lean D-Likely D, and Western Massachusetts often gets to 70% Democratic.
