This should be the ultimate test for the law, in my opinion.

This is why the simple-majority veto override is such an abomination.

Good.

Deserved punishment for those backstabbing coal workers.

You vote Republican, you reap what you sow.

This is so ironic considering the reason they voted in Republicans in the first place.

Lesson learned to those who threw an Obama protesting tantrum I'm voting Republican!

Amazing that WV fell before Ohio and Kentucky on this though.

Ironically that was probably passed by Democrats who worried about a future Republican Governor's vetoes.

Well, they'd go for Romney all over again by a wide margin, and they'll go for Trump, Cruz, Rubio.

Look, the state is like a time capsule. My theory is that when Fox, CNN, etc. started to really take off and become prevalent, which in WV would not have been all that long ago, the right wing adversarial nationalist stuff found very fertile ground there. The Commies and gangsters in Chicago and NJ; the gays in Hollywood; the Blacks in Philly; the gun-grabbers in NY; etc.

So, the poor shall get poorer!

Will the backlash from this help Democrats in the gubernatorial election?

No, Republican corporate overlords will blame Obama when they cut wages or fire people (to replace with ununionised workers) and that they should be grateful Republican laws will allow them to find a badly paid part time job at McDonalds or Wal-Mart.

Hopefully this is a wake-up call and serves as a concrete example of who truly has Weat Virginian workers' backs.

The backlash will be minimal. The leftover backlash to Obamacare will have a greater effect.

Thank God West Virginia is losing population and they are going to lose a Congressional seat in 2020. Less influence they have on the rest of the country, the better.

Sucks to suck.

West Virginia voted these people in, and they have only themselves to blame. That state is literally on an express train to hell with the smartest and luckiest just fleeing the state.

Wait, isn't West Virgina the same state where union workers (or would be union workers) literally fought a battle against the federal government to be able to unionize? And that state is becoming right to work?

I can't believe they'd do this, after the unions brought them up to be one of the top states in the Union.  How could the voters turn their backs on them?  Now they are going to sink to the bottom of all those "rank the states"....errr.... rankings.  Next thing you know they're going to be 46 in unemployment!

I honestly don't understand the problem. Why shouldn't you have the choice whether you join a union or not?

As a Conservative, shouldn't you agree with me that personal responsibility is a good thing? I mean, after all, this is a result of them voting these people in, so surely they should take responsibility and either vote them out, or suck it up and deal with sliding further into hell?
