http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/feb/06/madeleine-albright-campaigns-for-hillary-clinton

Former secretary of state Madeleine Albright introduced Hillary Clinton at an event in New Hampshire on Saturday, telling the crowd and voters in general: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!”

So just what is it with this woman?

Please vote and comment.

Let's dispel the notion that Madeleine Albright doesn't know what she's doing. She knows exactly what she's doing.

Indeed she does know exactly what she's doing.

She knows exactly she is giving a big slap in the face to 45% of the women in America.

And I don't think these 45% of women in America will have any respect left for this relic from the past.

Why is the poll asking about women who vote for Clinton when Albright talked about women who help other women? You're twisting her statement.

Kind of funny that she is trying to encourage women to make sexist voting decisions while Hillary's campaign is out on the field accusing others as sexists in one way or another.

You, my dear friend, talking about twisting statements?  Smiley

Besides, the clear implication in these ridiculous remarks is that women must vote for Clinton or they will pay a very heavy price.

But she turned it into a crass campaign speech for Clinton.

It's a bit staggering that anyone is defending this particular deployment of that line.

Besides, it's a pretty disturbing line in and of itself. Implying that the women's lack of success is due to lack of solidarity from other women plays right into sexist tropes, and diverts attention from the real issue of a social structure that systematically favors men.

Yeah, did she support Joni Ernst or Terri Lynn Land in 2014? Or Kelly Ayotte in 2010? How about Sarah Palin in 2008, running to be the first female Vice President?

Better yet, why did Hillary robocall in favor of the corrupt male Cuomo against the ethical female Teachout?

Teachout never had a chance; she was an outsider. I do think she'll have a chance in 2018 if she wins NY-19, though.

I didn't vote on this poll, but can understand why Albright said it: (1) she herself overcame glass ceilings to get where she is, and grew up a time when a woman Secretary of State was nearly inconceivable, and (2) probably feels some loyalty to the Clintons.

option 3, of course, but it would be an omission to imply that we think she had been indoctrinated only by the clintons.  She's a true believer.  This is the same Madeleine Albright who once said, "We are the indispensable nation."  Her idea of American Statecraft includes many such statements.  In response to Leslie Stahl's question, "We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima.  Is the price worth it?"  Madeline Albright replied, "I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it."  Sure, what's a little genocide if it keeps Americans in oil?

She's both an imperialist and a clintonista.  I have no doubt that she genuinely believes what she said.  American women (and probably a few American men) will burn in hell if they do not elect another Clinton.  Eight more years!
