This is historic.

No matter how things go after NH (and no matter how the Hillary hacks are going to rationalize NH), Bernie's campaign has already achieved what nobody ever thought they could. His message and his voters will be a force to be reckoned with for the future of the Democratic party. This is just the beginning.

I don't give a sh**t about this tiny ass state that just like Iowa doesn't represent most of America. Too white, too liberal and far too few people. Hillary is gonna dominate Bernie in 3 weeks. Super Tuesday baby!

Yup. Someone is starting to sweat like a dog, it seems. Cheesy

I've known this WAS NEVER A CONTEST FOR A VERY LONG TIME NOW. BERNIE NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO WIN THIS.

No, not "a very long time." Go back six months ago and tell anyone a 74-year-old self-proclaimed socialist from Vermont, with absolutely 0 establishment support, would win a State against Hillary. They would have laughed hard at you.

OK, looks like my memory failed me in terms of timing. But go back about 3 months further and everybody was writing off Bernie. The point is that it's unprecedented for a total outsider to do so well.

Well now you're correct. But it's already been priced in that he's doing far better than anyone expected at the very beginning. This was why the "Bernie won Iowa because he made it close!" theory never held water. Once it became clear he was a serious candidate, Iowa was supposed to be one of his easiest targets.

Nobody here is arguing that Bernie is the favorite now. Of course Hillary will probably still win in the end. But by all account what happened to do was good news for him and bad news for her. That should be obvious to anyone who's not a hack.

I don't see why Hillary supporters are upset.

She is by far the most likely winner and it will force herself to be a better candidate. Hillary being better is good for the general, no?

It's about angry Berniebots and the media spinning it as if Bernie is the new frontrunner when he clearly isn't.

Nice strawman.

Here's my perspective:
Bernie never had a real chance to win the party nomination. He also knows this. You can tell from his speech tonight by him saying that "we need to unite as a party in a few months, to defeat the right wing extremist" But because he made a run for the nomination he could potentially isolate many young voters and potentially many under 45 voters as well. It's just lunacy when Dems could have had a cake walk to the Presidency if we all stayed united, but now it's starting to fray, and within a few months many voters COULD (and i stress COULD) become disinterested and not turn out for Hillary in the GE. This would cause the party to be fractured for no good reason.

Jesus, do you hear yourself? This is why Hillary supporters are so insufferable. This complete sense of entitlement. It's really baffling you're not even aware of it.

Oh, let me guess: Hillary supporters in here being whiny and antagonistic after being delivered a brutal spanking in her latest underperformance? I'd recommend that everybody else stop engaging them. They've all been bragging and making grand assertions for years now, with a stealthy series of goal-posts being moved every time they fall short.

"But Hillary will win with 70% of the vote!"
"60%!"
"50%!"
"Hillary will destroy Bernie in IA"
"Hillary won* IA and it doesn't matter by how much - suck it"
"Who cares if Bernie wins NH by low double-digits? It's next to his home state!"
"It doesn't matter that Hillary lost by more than 20, there's Nevada!"

etc etc etc.

In other words: sooner or later, they might be right about something, but it won't be because they know any damn thing.

Actually, Sanders supporters are the ones moving the goalposts. Early on, the intellectually honest admitted that Iowa was a must win state for Sanders. Now suddenly just NH is enough to make him inevitable. lol

Except NOBODY SAID THAT EVER.

Is this confirmed?

Yup. CNN still has Bernie at 55-44. 66-32 among men. Big gender gap, but a landslide is a landslide.

You guys are unbelievable. You're making all the same mistakes Hillary's campaign has made in 2008 and is making again now: taking everything for granted.

The fact is, everything can still happen at this point. Being ahead now is not enough to make you feel safe. This is true for the primaries, and it will be true for the general.

She's not taking them for granted. McAuliffe and Wolf are setting up the largest Democratic GOTV operations that VA and PA have ever seen.

If Hillary's not taking them for granted, then neither should you.

Oh, and...

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Adults-Losing-Their-Crap-Over-Presidential-Candidates-On-The-Internet,

PLEASE stop telling others to "get a life" or calling people "losers."

I'm not better than you--probably worse, actually--but I'm not as hypocritical about it.

Thanks.

That's very good advice for both sides here.

I think they went to bed. Those of you wanting to know which shade NH gets on Leip's primary map will have to wait until tomorrow.

Sad

I really want Bernie to crack 60%.

Hahaha omg, now Hillbots are resorting to talking about superdelegates? Clearly they are more insecure than they let on.
