President John Kasich enters the 2008 election with an approval of 53%. His term has had many ups and downs , his budget policy has been largely successful as he was able to balance the budget by 2007 , two years earlier then most experts predicted. Also he was able to successfully cut taxes by an additional 15% which was another promise met. A major controversy was he nominated chairman of the Fed who favored raising home interest rates to reduce housing prices. While it has reduced housing prices in the short term we are yet to see if they will stay low in the long run. lastly he repealed Trumps healthcare plan with a private version of Health care called Kasichcare which requires anyone who can pay for health insurance to have one . On foreign policy, Kasich reversed trumps anti free trade policies , and ended relations with Suddam Hussain who was proven right by Kasich as he re started his WMDs program. Kasich all put severe sanctions on Syria, Iran, Pakistan for which he claims aided and abetted terrorism. A big failure from the administration was that North Korea had aquired Nuclear Weapons. Kasich is running on his success for a 2nd term.

Activist Alan Keyes has decided to run against Kaisch as he believes he is a liberal and the country needs a true conservative.

On the Democratic Side Former Sec of State Clinton and Former VP Brown are running on letting the Kasich tax cuts expire, spend more on infrastructure to create jobs and rebuild America, improving the education policy of the US , and actually standing up to terroists and fasict leaders instead of just talking like Kasich is doing. They are debating on which person is better suited to pass these policies.

Former Sec of Defense Jim Webb and Congressman Wes Clark is running on improving VA care, improve the US relations with countries instead of Alienating them, favoring fair trade over free trade, and plan on being the first pro union president since before Ronald Reagan. They are just debating  on who is better to pass these policies.

Senator Wellstone is running on a progressive platform of raising the minimum wage to $12.50, reversing not only the Kasich tax cuts but the Bush and Reagan ones as well, passing single payer healthcare and paid and work leave and lastly regulating Wall Street

President Kasich as barely survived to win the nomination but the Democratic primaries have ended with no one coming out a winner. Bill Clinton and Clark have dropped out and endorsed Jim Webb but it isnt enough for the deadlock to be broken which means the Democratic primaries will be decided at the convention
