There are 20 candidates or so on the ballots in either party. Most of them didn't even sign up for election in other states. On the GOP side, some unknown candidates even received more votes than Gilmore.

So, those are mostly joke candidates, aren't they?
Doesn't make it even more humiliating for Gilmore that some joke candidates were more successful than him?

Most of them are actually completely serious, they're just unable to run a full campaign.
