NPR has just announced it. It's official.

Well, just for clarification, it's now officially official. The Republican Party website, which has a record of the names of all of the major presidential candidates, took his name of the list around thirty minutes ago. They couldn't have done that without Christie's personal permission, so it's all set and done.

CNN also has it confirmed:

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/02/10/politics/chris-christie-2016-election/

Game over. Or, in other words:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GqYYlqkPdM

Chris Christie sleeps with the fishes.

Chris Christie deserves scorn for his brutal attack on Rubio in the debate.  He may have destroyed the establishment's last hope of nominating a traditional conservative who could win the election.
Rubio is too nice a guy.  He should have said "You hugged Obama, you closed the bridge.  You think you are brilliant, but you are a failed politician.  You are going nowhere in this race."
It just ticks me off that Christie would pull a suicide bomber tactic like that right when Rubio was gaining traction in this race.

It was payback for Rubio's attacks on Christie on the trail and in his advertising.  CNN has a brief "behind the scenes" of Christie's irritation with Rubio's attacks on him:

Why don't Rubio voters ever want their candidate vetted? That's the thing I don't get.

Anyway, assuming a Clinton victory this November, does Christie run again in 2020?

It's too bad for him that it's not still 2013, otherwise he would've probably won easily.

I doubt it.  He's too damaged I think.  How old is he?

Christie deserves a thank you letter and a million dollar loan from TRUMP for his service.

Right now, he's 53.  He'll be 54 in September, so he'd be 58 on election day 2020.
