The Newspaper Initiative

Announcing the newspaper initiative! A new push to put a major newspaper in each region, I've been working on this for a little while, and I think it's time to go public.

If you want to join, please include the name of your newspaper, and the region it's based in.

The purpose of this is to increase the amount of activity, and the cooperation between my office and the regions. If you join, you'll have the opportunity to develop and report stories with me! I'll have some more venues to report new developments in policy.

Pacific: The Pacific Time (owned by 1184AZ)
South: The Southern Biscuit (owned by Haslam)

I was talking to Clyde about reviving the Northeast Chronicle, I haven't gotten a reply yet. Maybe you could do a co-ownership with him? Anyway, if I don't get reply from him, you can join up.

Well, Truman had the Mideast-Record Courier too so if he wants too he can start that up again.

This is an excellent idea - I can't begin to describe how refreshing it is to have a proactive GM at last. I'm not sure if I'll be joining up, but either way this is a very promising project.

Thank you, I designed this project to be flexible, so people who aren't going to be able to do this very often don't have to. Newspaper owners can be as active as they can.

Also, Atlasia's Politico is more of a national newspaper (although maybe it could serve as a Midwest one? But honestly it seems like more of an Atlasian politics newspaper and thus not really one for GM-like events), and the Mideast Record-Courier has kind of served as that, too.

 - Will national newspapers be integrated into the system?
 - So will this be something where they run stories by you, and if you think it works well it runs, or something else?
 - How much discussion of ideas will be between you and the newspaper writers?

Right now, there is no plan for national newspaper's to be included. If I was to successfully put a newspaper in each region, then I'll consider expanding the project.
It's what you said, but more interactive; I want to develop stories with these newspapers, not just tell them "yes" or "no".
I don't know, haven't done it yet, but I'd imagine it'll be until the story is perfected.

Just wanted to remind everyone, the Mideast still doesn't have a newspaper in this initiative.
