Of course they have free will. And I specifically said they won't follow just any black leader. But Barack Obama isn't just any black leader and he holds far more sway in the black community than you'd think. Look at what happened when he endorsed gay marriage: black voters overwhelmingly switched their opinions because someone that they all admire made it look okay. The same thing will likely happen with Hillary. White folk just don't get it.

Two people here used the phrase "the blacks" to refer to our African American communities. That's... nice. Maybe some of the people on this forum should look at people a little less as statistical groups for political wonkery purposes and treat them a little more like living beings.

Anyway, this is typical political campaigning stuff. Like it or hate it, this is how things are done. Whether or not an endorsement from a figure such as Al Sharpton holds much weight today is highly questionable but, nevertheless, it won't hurt Bernie (or Hillary) by winning or losing his endorsement. It's mostly just for show.
