In the future, definitely. I can't see us really becoming a major space-faring civilization without all of us ending our constant bickering & fighting and coming together to pool our knowledge, resources and labor.

As it stands now, constant fighting with increasingly sophisticated technology is almost certainly going to doom us at one point or another unless we come together.

No, especially not without aliens to keep us in check. The society would either crumble quickly, become a totalitarian dystopia, or both.

Not all world governments are going to be the whole "New World Order" with Bilderbergs and Tri-Lateral Comissions and other conspiracy-laden things, guys.

The odds are 50-50 at best that I would survive a few votes of the new world government's legislative body, so no.

Not in real life, but this idea could be a really good tv show.

No. The world is divided in nations. These nations should be living in nation-states. "One size fits all" doesn't work and isn't moral.

I could definitely see more regional consolidation, like various nations uniting into one for economic or other purposes.

Absolutely not. Even if I did support it, it is extremely optimistic to think this would actually work.
