In 1984, Walter Mondale nominates Sen. Carl Levin(D-MI) as VP, making him the first major Jewish VP nominee, 16 years earlier than in real life.

Do women stage a walkout at the DNC? I don't expect the map to change, but does Mondale become competitive in MI? Are Reagan Democrats still a thing, and is Macomb County, MI still their capital? Does the GOP nominate a woman VP, such as Elizabeth Dole, possibly as early as 1988?
