OK, news just came out that a prisoner in interrogation was killed while being tortured, and the CIA has overseen torture of prisoners in Pakistan. Are the Muslims out in arms complaining about this? NOOOOOO. Instead they're throwing riots over a ing book!

http://reuters.myway.com/article/20050527/2005-05-27T172838Z_01_N2781345_RTRIDST_0_NEWS-RELIGION-KORAN-PROTESTS-DC.html

Apparentely Muslims don't have any problem with Abu Ghraib, or the torture and execution of their prisoners. Just don't touch that Koran!

Now what do us Christians do conversely? Certain shock rockers like Marilyn Manson have done things like tear up Bibles on stage before. Did anyone riot about that? No. If news came out that some Muslim country was mishandling and desecrating Bibles, would there be such massive widespread protests in Christian countries? No. Lesson here?

I'd like to direct a porn movie using the Koran as an "accessory"...

I'm still waiting for someone to answer my question regarding why provoking nonviolent Muslims into violence is going to solve all of the world's problems surrounding Islam.

The question is why are Muslims so easily provoked into violence and why they have their priorities so screwed up.

US state department

I think that news agencies are too lazy (and have far too low an estimation of people's intellect) to report the details of the unstable political situation in Afganistan, so they just used an ad hoc simplification so they could have a good blood and blame story (How many people would tune in if the riots were actually about lack of internal security against suicide bombers, or the abuses of power by regional warlords, or elections and political representation?).  Bo-ring: give the people something with bloodshed that we can blame ourselves for.  Not to say we haven't dropped the ball on rebuilding and stabling Afganistan, but when you've got a re-election campaign to run like they did - something that looks like action but is counterproductive (invading Iraq), gets a lot more media attention than something that actually helps (rebuilding Afganistan, hunting down and dismantling Al-Queda and freezing/seizing their assets.)

Karzai says the Newsweek story isn't to blame. Anyways, the Koran, which did get torn up, despite Newsweeks idiotic retraction, is old news, the new news is the US military memo to blame torture on the FBI. Hmm, 3 big things there.

1. The US military admitted it tortures
2. They are trying to hide the fact that they torture
3. They want to blame it on the FBI

We need a brand new government NOW not 3 3/4 years now from now.
